Owner operator Russell Oates grew up amongst the vines in Wilyabrup, the home of world-class Margaret River wine. His vineyard know-how combines a lifetime’s knowledge and years of industry experience supporting other local growers.
With a graduate certificate in Viticulture from The University of Western Australia, and a Member of the Margaret River Wine Industry Association, Russell is a focussed and hard-working family man. He takes pride in his long-standing client base, including many leading wine growers, and is himself a vigneron.
Russell is committed to sustainable grape growing practices. WVC’s own grapes are grown along organic principles and our vineyard is Freshcare assuredand EntWine certified. Developed by the Winemakers’ Federation of Australia, EntWine is a voluntary environmental program that gives formal certification according to recognised standards.
